| Description | Murchison correspondence: letter from Wilhelm von HAIDINGER, Vienna, 25 Jan 1848. Re: Apologies for not replying to Murchison's previous letter as he was unsure where to contact him whilst Murchison is travelling in Italy; translated Murchison's comments on the Wiener Sandstein which appeared on Haidinger's map to his scientific society; Haidinger felt it was his national duty to create a map but there are clearly many mistakes on it and the Wiener Sandstein will need properly delineated; forwards letters from Morlot and Naumann; von Hauer's fossil discoveries in the Alps. |
