| Description | Murchison correspondence: letter from William HUTTON, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, 2 Mar 1829. Re: Turns down Murchison's offer of a post [?GSL curatorship] as he feels he would not be competent for the role; thanks Murchison for the kindly response to his work on vegetable fossils and will send drawings as well as specimens to the Society; will also forward a collection of small specimens for Charlotte Murchison's cabinet; his friend William Turner unfortunately was unable to deliver his previous letter so instead gave it to Mr Bigge who is a neighbour of Murchison. |
