| Description | Murchison correspondence: letter from William HUTTON, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, 7 Dec 1831. Re: Forwards sheets of his geological map along with the first volume of Transactions of the Natural History Society of Northumberland; also sends his paper with maps and rough sections on the Whin Sill ['On the Stratiform Basalt associated with the Carboniferous formation of the North of England'], thinks it interesting enough to be read before the Society but wishes to publish it in the Transactions of the Natural History Society of Northumberland, is also keen to know opinions on the paper, particularly from Adam Sedgwick; missing issues of the Proceedings. |
