DescriptionMurchison correspondence: letter from Captain Phillip Parker KING, Arthurleigh, New South Wales, 24 Jan 1834. Re: pleased to have received a letter from Murchison, hand delivered by his relative 'Mr Murchison' who is now accompanying King on a trip to Lake George; belatedly congratulates Murchison on his election to the 'President's Chair' and recalls his pleasure having attended some Society meetings and parties at Murchison's house; has found some curious limestone formations, samples of which he may send to the Society; asks Murchison to remember him to Stokes, Fitton, Brown, Broderip, Sedgwick, Greenough, Lyell and Buckland as he fears they may forget him.
