| CustodialHistory | The partial letter was found in the correspondence of Leslie Reginald Cox, Assistant Keeper of Geology at the Natural History Museum. Apparently Cox was tasked with arranging the Murchison letter series which came to the Society in 1944. The partial letter may have been set aside to match up with the other half and accidentally retained. Following a review the NHM transferred the letter to the Society on 12 December 2023. |
