Administrative HistoryIn 1829, William Lonsdale was appointed Museum Curator and Librarian (along with other duties) but was relieved of his Curatorial duties in 1836 when his health broke down from overwork. In 1838 he continued as Library and Assistant Secretary, but finally resigned in 1842 when his health failed to recover.
