DescriptionMurchison correspondence: letter from Charles LYELL, London, 5 Jun 1833. Re: His wife and her sister could not call on Mrs Murchison as they were busy shopping, declines Murchison's invitation as he will be dining with other friends; has received his passport and will leave for Paris, intends to read a paper at the 'Geological Society of Paris [Société géologique de France] as he cannot let Virlet's paper on the Isle of Santorini go unnoticed as he has used virtually the same wording which Lyell used in volume one of Principles in his criticism of Von Buch.
