Description | Murchison correspondence: letter from Spencer Joshua Alwyne Compton, 2nd Marquess of NORTHAMPTON, Coolhurst, 21 Oct 1832. Re: sorry not to have met up with Mr and Mrs Murchison when last in London; wishes to be reminded of the locality where the specimen of Murchisonite, given to him by Murchison, was found as he may be passing through Lyme on his way to the Lakes for winter; plans to go to Brighton to visit Gideon Mantell who has a skull of an Iguanodon; disappointment over his last visit to the Zoological Society Gardens on finding the young pumas were dead. |
