DescriptionMurchison correspondence: letter from Hugh Edwin STRICKLAND, Smyrna, 15 Nov 1835. Re: William John Hamilton has been unwell so their geological researches have so far been restricted to the area around Smyrna, however now he is recovered they plan on exploring Catacecaumene; encloses a memoir which Stickland and Hamilton had to draw up hurriedly [not included]; has been successful in obtaining land shells of Greece amd Asia Minor for Charlotte Murchison's collection.
Administrative HistoryHugh Edwin Strickland accompanied William John Hamilton on a tour through southern Europe to Asia Minor between 1835-1836.
