| Description | Murchison correspondence: letter from Hugh Edwin STRICKLAND, Cracombe House, Evesham, 4 Jun 1838. RE: Further work on the index for Murchison's 'Silurian System'; his paper on Ethie and belief he has found dykes composed of sedimentary and uncrystalline materials which are contrary to received geological ideas, suggests that Murchison rewrite his paper as he was the first discoverer of these dykes; turns down the offer of a voucher for the Herschel dinner; sending the specimen of a Cycloid Fish by way of his father. |
