Description | Murchison correspondence: letter from Henry WITHAM, Lartington, 9 Oct 1833. Re: Money which he intended to purchase a town house has instead been used to acquire Towler Hill from the Duke of Devonshire, requests his name be removed from the list of candidates for election to the Athenaeum; heard about Murchison from George Healey, and his intention to publish his next work by subscription and would like his name added to the list; his museum is making progress and hopes to see Murchison when he next passes on his way to Edinburgh; Phillips has been staying with him and visiting the Teesdale Tan Hill. |
