| Description | Murchison correspondence: letter from William WYON, Royal Mint, London, to Francis Chantrey, 26 May 1832. Re: Reacts to Murchison's 'harsh' criticism of Wyon's design of the Wollaston Medal despite his engraving it twice, and wants to know if Council will employ another artist. Includes a sketch of both side of the medal. The letter is annotated by Murchison stating he was ignorant of the circumstances of Wyon's lateness in delivery of the design.
