DescriptionPencil sketch 'The Wye above Builth', probably by Charlotte Murchison, [1833-1835].

The drawing has been coloured with red and blue watercolour likely indicating broad differences in the geology in preparation for inclusion in Murchison's 'Silurian System' (1839), however the image was not published.

Administrative HistoryCharlotte Murchison recorded in her diary that she visited the area around the 10th August 1833, and remarked on the fine views, see: LDGSL/840/4. She also visited the area in 1835.
