Administrative HistoryThe basemap, colouring and writing of the key is very similar to LDGSL/947/6/D/2/1. According to the Memoir to Greenough's 'Geological Map of England & Wales' (1820), Joseph H Fryer of Lysick Hall, Cumberland, sent Greenough three maps coloured geologically in 1814 - Cumberland, Westmorland and Durham - which aided his research in compiling the map. Although not mentioned, this item may be related to these.
