DescriptionGeological colouring, with notes, key and written sections, by George Bellas Greenough, 1817, on base map 'The County of Glocester [sic]', by Isaac Taylor, published by William Faden, 1800. Greenough no.223. Scale: 2 miles to the inch [1:130,000]. Dissected on cloth, 62.5 x 73cm.
Administrative HistoryAlong with the geological information, Greenough has included lists of male and female names and the areas in which they live. This could be a list of sources of geological information as one of the names - Rev Robert Standish - was in communication with Greenough for this very reason.

The map is annotated by Greenough 'Colored Decr 1817' and is therefore likely to have been used as part of the research for Greenough's 'Geological Map of England and Wales' (1820).
