Base map is the north west sheet of Aaron Arrowsmith's 'Large Map of England', 1815. Greenough no. 2760. Scale-1:200,000, 64cm x 96cm. Dissected on cloth.
Administrative HistoryThomas Sheppard's list gives date of c.1835. The map is likely to have been used as part of the research/drafting of the second edition of George Bellas Greenough's 'Geological Map of England & Wales' (1840).
ProvenanceGreenough bequest, single sheet only is recorded in the 1860 Library Catalogue, although mistakenly listed as NE sheet.
