DescriptionIncomplete geological colouring on the northeast, probably by George Bellas Greenough, [up to 1840?], on base map 'Lancashire', by J & C Walker, published by Longman, Orme, Rees & Co, 1835. Greenough no.2730. Scale-1:335,000, 42cm x 36cm.
Administrative HistoryThe map contains a single annotation in pencil 'colored after Walker' which is likely to refer to J & C Walker and J A Knipe's 'A geological map of England and Wales, showing also the inland navigation by means of rivers and canals, with their elevation in feet above the sea, together with the rail roads & principal roads. London: J & C. Walker..' (first edition 1835).

This map was probably used as part of the research for the second edition of Greenough's 'Geological Map of England and Wales' (1840).
