Administrative HistoryGreenough cites a number of bibliographic references by others on this map, including: Elias Hall's maps and model of Derbyshire; John Farey's "An account of the great Derbyshire Denudation", Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, vol 101 (1811); William Hopkins' "Remarks on Farey's account of the stratification of the Limestone district of Derbyshire" 'Philosopical Magazine' 3rd series, vol 5 (1834); written section taken from the 'Mining Journal', 1837.

The map was likely to have been used as part of the research for the second edition of George Bellas Greenough's 'Geological Map of England & Wales' (1840).
