Administrative HistoryThe origins of this map is unclear. It may have formed part of the research for the first edition of Greenough's 'Geological Map of England and Wales' (1820). The map is similar in format to the Joseph Fryer county maps [see: LDGSL/947/6/D/1/1 & LDGSL/947/6/D/2/1], which could indicate a date around 1814.
