DescriptionGeological colouring, with pencil and ink annotations by George Bellas Greenough, [after 1827] on base 'A New Map of the County of Worcester divided into hundreds' (3rd ed), published by Charles Smith, 1818. Down the left margin are lists of country seats and their owners. Greenough no.302. Scale-1:150,000. Dissected on cloth, 58.5 x 63cm.
Administrative HistoryThe map references James Yates' paper, "Observations on the Structure of the Border Country of Salop and North Wales; and of some detached Groups of Transition Rocks in the Midland Counties", 'Transactions of the Geological Society of London', S2, vol 2 (1827).

The map may have been used as part of the research for the second edition of Greenough's 'Geological Map of England and Wales' (1840).
