DescriptionRough colouring, presumably by George Bellas Greenough, with notes mainly concerning the location of bogs, [1811-1855] on base map 'Map of Ireland, engraved by E Jones, published by Aaron Arrowsmith, 1811. The notes also include some geological content but notably criticise the topography of the basemap. The information on bogs is likely to have been copied from the '[Reports] of the Commissioners appointed to enquire into the nature and extent of the several bogs in Ireland, and the practicability of draining and cultivating them', (1810-1811). Greenough no.530. Scale-1:212,500. Dissected on cloth, 146 x 366cm.
