DescriptionNomination books containing the names of foreign geologists proposed for the honour of becoming either a Foreign Member or Foreign Correspondent.
Administrative HistoryIn 1865 it was ordered that any member of Council proposing a candidate for the honour of Foreign Member or Correspondent was required to state the reason in writing and include names of published works, all of which should be entered in a book. A printed list of candidates, taken from the book would be forwarded to each member of Council with a notice of the meeting in which the matter would be considered.
