Also, brief file containing information on the origins of the chairman's gavel and red lion snuff box belonging to the Geological Society Club, notably a watercolour illustrated certificate regarding the presentation of the chairman's gavel in 1884. [Note: the gavel's current whereabouts are unknown]
ProvenanceThe snuff box was transferred to the Archives by John Bennett, Secretary of the Discussion Club (previously the Dining Club) in October 2021.
