DescriptionSecretary's In letters: From William BUCKLAND, Oxford, to Edward Turner. Re: Refers Turner to his paper on fossil sepia which was published in the Proceedings in 1829, is writing on the subject at length for his Bridgewater Essay; is of the opinion that Mr [?John] Dunn's fossil is not a plesiosaurus dolichodeirus but an undescribed species which he may also have fragments of, recommends that images of them appear together in a forthcoming Transactions, 24 Nov 1834.

Administrative HistoryThe sepia paper referenced in the letter was read at the meeting of 6 February 1829, and published in the 'Proceedings of the Geological Society', vol 1 (1829), pp97-98. The plesiosaur referred to by may be that depicted at: LDGSL/100.
