| Administrative History | The 'Geological Society Newsletter' replaced the previous inhouse magazine 'Geological Society Circular' in 1972. The format was similar, still A5 typescript format, but with a slightly wider content. Typical information included in the publication comprises: Society news; notices of meetings with abstracts; candidate proposals; Library notices; notices of Funds and Awards; Society closures. By the mid 1980s, the publication becomes more comprehensive. |
