Administrative HistoryThe print was on sale in Mantell's museum for 3s 6d. According to the 1825 prospectus for the 'Illustrations of the Geology of Sussex' (which would be published in December 1826), it was intended to accompany a description of the fish which would appear on page 236 and was recommended to be bound into the volume.

The largest specimen is now in the Natural History Museum (ref P.4293).
