Administrative HistoryThe letter is likely to have been addressed to one of the Secretaries of the time, either Arthur Aikin (served 1812-1817) or Leonard Horner (1810-1814). The specimens referred to in the letter are recorded as "Specimens of the Calcaire d'eau douce, and of the Meulicre d'eau douce from the neighbourhood of Paris", given by Comte de Bournon, 5 June 1812.
