DescriptionLarge pencil drawing, with head and tail details of an imperfect specimen of the fossil fish Lepidotus semiserratus, by unknown artist, [1830s-1840s]. From the Upper Lias of Whitby, in the Museum of Scarborough.
Administrative HistoryThe same specimen was drawn for Agassiz's 'Recherches sur les Poissons Fossiles' (1833-1843/4), which focused on the same details. It could be a rough draft.
CustodialHistoryThe drawing was placed with the other material by John Grant Malcolmson in the 1980s due to the similar historical folio reference, however it does not appear to be connected with his work.
