Administrative HistoryJohn Farey is made a series of geological sections which were never published during his lifetime. However hand-drawn copies were circulated amongst the geological community.

Farey's London to Brighton section, completed in 1807, was the first detailed cross-section to be prepared in England.
ProvenanceThree of the sections were presented to the Society by George Bellas Greenough, 2 November 1810.
