Description | Watercolour study, with scale details, of an imperfect specimen of the fossil fish Plectrolepis rugosus Agassiz [Eurynotus crenatus], by Joseph Dinkel, [1841-1843]. Probably found in the Coal Measures, Carluke, Scotland, from the collection of the Carluke Committee.
Note: the drawing is marked 'Carluke Committee' but it is unclear what this means. It may be connected to Dr Daniel Rankin of Carluke. |
Administrative History | Collected as part of the research for Louis Agassiz's 'Recherches sur les Poissons Fossiles' (1833-1843) but never published. |
