DescriptionWatercolour of the jaw & entopterygoid of the fossil fish Bothriolepis favosa, by Joseph Dinkel, [1840-1844]. According to J L R Agassiz, 'Monographie des poissons fossiles du vieux grès rouge ou système Dévonien (Old Red Sandstone) des Îles Britanniques et de Russie' (1844-1845), the counterpart of the specimen was from the Old Red Sandstone of Russia and transmitted by Roderick Murchison.
