Administrative HistoryThe specimen was given to the Bristol Museum by Jospeh Parker of Upton Cheyney, who is taken to be the author of the print. The specimen was made the type of Plesiosaurus brachycephalus by Richard Owen in 1840, although when Owen figured it later he described it as from Charmouth. The specimen was destroyed by enemy action in 1940.
ProvenancePresented by Thomas H Holdsworth on 13 December 1831 and Joseph Parker on 25 April 1833.
