| Description | Eleven letters between Thomas George Bonney and the Earl of Shaftesbury, January 1878, concerning the publication of Bonney's book 'A Manual of Geology' which was issued through the Society for the Promotion of Christian Knowledge. Also two cuttings, taken from an unknown newspaper, in which Shaftesbury accused the work of being 'noxious' in character and promoting 'Neologic views' of the first chapter of Genesis. |
