1 October 1825: Geology and stratigraphy around Lyme, with reference to the map by Henry De la Beche (1-8)

4 October 1825: from Axmouth to Lyme, accompanied by Mary Anning rode to Dowlands, stratigraphical description and watercolour section of cliffs (9), explores Axmouth area on his own after sending 'my fair fossilist back to Dowlands to wait for me on the beach', including watercolour sections (10-18). Descriptions of two recent Ichthyosaurus specimens found by Mary Anning with references to discoveries elsewhere (19-21); “Continuation of the coast section from Axminster to Lyme”, description of the strata and fossils including a mass of Plesiosaur vertebra at Pinhay bay (23-25).

6 October 1825: Lyme to Somerton, descriptions of the stratigraphy of Lyme (with 'Mary the fossilist'), through Charmouth, Marshalsea, Pilsdon to Crewkerne, Somerset, Hinton St George, Norton, Stoke, Bridgewater Marsh, Martock, Long Load, Somerton (27-32). Somerton to Glastonbury (32-33), Glastonbury to Wells (33), Wookey Hole (33), Cheddar (34), Axbridge, Cross (35).

9 October 1825: Cross to Banwell, notably a tour of the Banwell Caves by 'Farmer Beard' [amateur archaeologist William Beard], with descriptions of the animal bones discovered (37-41), Churchill, Clifton with thumbnail section of the 'descent of Broadway to Bristol' (41).
