21st April 1816 (Paris, France) - 9th June 1818 (England)

Describes visits to places in Paris, in French, such as Luxembourg Palace, National Library, Chapel Royal where she saw the royal family, the Louvre. Also Saint-Cloud and Versailles palace in English (p1-6). Visits various places around Lake Geneva in May and June, then Berne (Aug), Milan (Oct), Genoa (Oct-Mar) (p7-14). Tours Italy (p14-82), describing places such as Lucca; Pisa; Siena (p20-25); Viterbo; Rome (p28-54, 59-76), including Easter celebrations (p.33-37), visits to many palaces, churches and galleries, an excursion to Tivoli (p50-52), the death of a cardinal (p49-50), and carnival celebrations (p74-75); Naples (p55-57); Florence (p76-81); Bologna. Return to England on 9th June 1818.
