Describes travels and sightseeing (including fossils, paintings and museums) in Belgium from 15th-19th June 1830 (p1-8), covering Ostend, Bruges, Ghent, Antwerp, Brussels, Namur, and Liège. Visits Maastricht in The Netherlands 20th-22nd June (p8-9), then enters Germany on 23rd June.
Details the landscape and sightseeing in central and southeastern Germany (p9-21), visiting Aix-La-Chapelle (Aachen), Cologne, Bonn, Coblenz (Koblenz), Boppard, Bingen, Wiesbaden (p12-14), Frankfurt, Würzburg, Bamberg (p16-18) (mentions fossils), Regensburg, and Vilshofen an der Donau.
Enters Austria 8th July, and describes travels and sightseeing in northern and eastern Austria (p21-35), passing through Steyr, Melk (p22-25), Vienna (p25-35) (visits Mohs's lecture theatre, Liechtenstein Museum, sees royal family in Baden), and Eisenstadt (then in Hungary). Enters Hungary on 23rd July, and visits Ödenburg (Sopron), returning to Austria the next day.
Describes travels and sightseeing in southern and central Austria (p37-46), visiting Wiener Neustadt, Gleisdorf, Wolfsberg, Hieflau, Liezen, Bad Aussee, Hallstadt, Gosau, Bad Ischl, Ebensee, Salzburg, and Hallein.
Re-enters Germany on 23rd August, and describes travels and sightseeing in southern and central Germany (p46-64), including Berchtesgaden, Laufen, Munich (p48-53), Augsburg, Eichstätt, Solnhofen, [Gemünd], Nuremberg, [Barz], Coburg, Gotha, Göttingen, Hanover, Minden, Soest, and Cleves (Kleve).
Enters The Netherlands around 26th September, and describes travels and sightseeing in The Netherlands until 28th September (p64-65), including Rotterdam, The Hague, and Leyden (Leiden).
