DescriptionManuscript notes made on a geological tour through France by Henry Grey BENNET. The notes consist of geological information gathered from observations from the route that was taken through France and information gathered from others Bennett met. Information includes rock types, notes on formations and appearances and distances between formations. The places visited are underlined in red.

The tour began in Boulogne and took in towns such as, Abbeville, Rouen, Caen, Bayeux, Cherbourg, Avranches, Nantes, Angers, Bordeaux, Bayonne, Toulouse, Limoges, Orleans, Paris and Calais.

Examination of handwriting suggests that this was not physically written by Bennet himself.
