DescriptionManuscript notes entitled 'Rocks arranged by county, volume 1’, containing notes on the various rock formations to be found in the counties of England, covering Bedfordshire to Cornwall, collated by George Bellas GREENOUGH,[1816-1837]. Includes some information on fossils, bibliographic references and some longer descriptions of strata with sketch sections.

Notably contains frequent references to strata which Greenough states is missing from 'Smith's map' [William Smith's 'A Delineation of the Strata of England and Wales...' (1815)].
